osteoporosis liver disease

By admin, 23 February, 2010, No Comment

Please give me your opinion?

I am a clean man, no drink no drugs, father, with a normal/regular simple life
Here is my test result.

Back X-Ray (spine osteoporosis), EKG (normal), Blood Test (H. Pilory, High Cholesterol, Hepatitis B chronic), Stress Test (normal), Chest X-Ray (Chronic Lung disease, increase pulmonary venous pressure, or both), HRCT Chest (mosaic attenuation pattern), 2nd HRCT Chest to confirm ( Suspect airway disease as cause for mosaic perfusion) Pulmonary Breathing Test (normal), Abdominal Ultrasound (Echogenic Liver consistent with fatty infiltration).

The main problem is that I am having pain in my mid back that travel to the lower left back. Also, pain in my mid chest, upper abdominal rib cage left side with swollen that travels to my lower left side, lack of air to breath, getting tired very easy, sleeping above 10 hours a day.

Please your opinion will be appreciated. (doctors are not helping me much at this present time).

thank you

I am not a doctor. Here is what I see for what it is worth..

You have spine osteoporosis that can cause back pain. They have drugs and shots for osteoporosis. (ie Fosamax, Boniva, etc). Make sure you take enough calcium w/D (ask doctor first).

You have lung disease with increased pulmonary venous pressure…If you have cardiopulmonary hypertension, then I believe that high blood pressure between heart and lung blood vessels can lead to backup of blood into the heart and enlarged heart (left sided heart failure which can lead to right sided heart failure also). If you smoke, quit smoking.

You have Hepatitis B with fatty liver infiltation…that is not good, but maybe able to live with….here is a link to clinical trials for Hepatitis B…

Any pain above the waist can be a warning sign of a heart attack…you can get a scan of the heart for calcifications that might be pre-eminent before a heart attack…this is a link to explain how that works..

Your cholesterol is high. This could be from diet, or from what your liver is making (genetic) or both. Sometimes they can give drugs to lower cholesterol, but probably have to have good liver function to take statin drugs (like Lipitor, etc). Also you could consider a vegetarian diet (no meat, high fiber to lower cholesterol).Ask the doctor first before making any dietary changes.

Sometimes with liver failure, they try to lower protein (ammonia is the waste byproduct of too much protein) or they give something like lactulose (a particular type of laxative to facilitate excess protein not being absorbed by the body, but scurried out instead). It doesn’t sound like you are having liver failure, but you want to protect what is left of your liver function. Ask a doctor before making any diet changes.

I believe that tylenol is filtered thru the liver and aspirin type products (ie aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen) thru the kidneys. something to keep in mind when choosing pain pills for over the counter relief….ask the doctor to verify this..or a pharmacist…

In Osteoporosis: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Principles nationally recognized clinicians who deal daily with osteoporosis lay down a solid basis for current clinical practice by illuminating the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of this rapidly spreading chronic disease. By explaining and applying the wealth of recently discovered medical knowledge and procedures for osteoporosis, they ensure the proper evaluation and treatment of patients by health care providers from all medical disciplines, and particularly, primary care physicians, endocrinologists, gynecologists, rheumatologists, and orthopedic surgeons. The distinguished authors also provide practitioners with numerous clinical approaches, patient algorithms, and evidence-based scenarios, as well as in-depth coverage of areas not often taught or reviewed, including therapeutic intervention, interpretation of bone densitometry scans, and quality-of-life and nondrug-treatment options. Osteoporosis: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Principles will immediately become the constant companion and reference for the practicing physician who wants to select the most effective approach to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of osteoporosis today.
